In an era where architectural practice is often defined by speed and spectacle, Studio Elementz distinguishes itself through a quieter yet more enduring approach—one rooted in contextual sensitivity, material honesty, and spatial clarity. Based in Pune, the multidisciplinary design studio has steadily built a reputation for delivering architecture and interiors that are thoughtful, functional, and deeply responsive to their environment.
At the heart of Studio Elementz are its founders—Sumedh Gite, Design Principal, and Ketki Kansara, Co-founder and Design Principal—whose complementary journeys, shared values, and hands-on leadership shape the studio’s design philosophy.
Foundations Shaped by Place and Perseverance
Born and raised in Nashik, Maharashtra, Sumedh Gite completed his early schooling at Rachana Vidyalaya, where an inclination towards creativity and analytical thinking began to take form. He went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the College of Architecture, Nashik, under Pune University, graduating in 2012.
Coming from a middle-class family with a strong government service background, Sumedh grew up with values of discipline, perseverance, and responsibility. Limited access to advanced educational resources and exposure to architecture during his formative years posed early challenges. However, these constraints became catalysts for self-learning, resilience, and a strong reliance on mentorship—traits that continue to define his professional approach.
His professional career commenced in 2012, gaining valuable on-ground experience with reputed architectural practices, including Chaney Architects, Pune. Here, he worked across diverse typologies—healthcare facilities, mixed-use developments, luxury villas, apartment complexes, and industrial infrastructure—developing a strong understanding of both design intent and execution realities.
A Design Journey Rooted in Sensitivity and Craft
Ketki Kansara, also born and raised in Nashik, discovered her interest in art and spatial design early in life. She completed her schooling in Maharashtra before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the College of Architecture, Nashik, Pune University. While not from a lineage of designers, her upbringing in a culturally grounded family nurtured an appreciation for craftsmanship, simplicity, and material expression.
Beginning her professional journey in 2010, Ketki navigated the challenges of growing up and studying in a Tier-2 city—where exposure to global architectural discourse and advanced resources was limited. Additionally, stepping into the profession as a young woman came with its own set of societal expectations. Through determination, mentorship, and consistent performance, she built a career spanning residential, industrial, hospitality, and interior projects across India, the United States, and Africa—experiences that enriched her holistic, context-driven design sensibility.
The Birth of Studio Elementz
United by a shared vision to create architecture that is meaningful rather than merely monumental, Sumedh and Ketki founded Studio Elementz as a platform for research-driven, collaborative design. The studio was conceived not just as a practice, but as a space where architecture serves as a problem-solving tool—balancing aesthetics with performance, and innovation with practicality.
Over the years, Studio Elementz has completed 60+ projects across residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. From luxurious private villas and boutique healthcare facilities to commercial workspaces and industrial developments, the firm’s portfolio reflects its versatility across scale and typology.
Design Philosophy: Where Context Leads the Way
What defines Studio Elementz is its unwavering commitment to contextual responsiveness. Every project begins with an in-depth understanding of site conditions, climate, user behavior, and material appropriateness. The studio’s work often explores experimental yet grounded material palettes, including ferrocrete arches, bamboo veneer finishes, and customized interior elements—each contributing to a distinct yet understated visual identity.
Rather than imposing a signature style, the studio allows each project to evolve organically—resulting in spaces that feel intuitive, experiential, and enduring.
Integrated Services, Hands-On Approach
Studio Elementz offers a comprehensive suite of services spanning:
Architectural Design for residential, healthcare, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects
Interior Design, focused on refined spatial planning, bespoke furniture, lighting, and material detailing
Landscape Design, integrating built form with climate-appropriate planting and outdoor experiences

A defining strength of the studio is its hands-on involvement at every stage—from conceptualization and design development to on-site coordination and execution. This close engagement ensures that the design vision translates seamlessly into built reality.
Education, Mentorship, and the Road Ahead
Beyond practice, Sumedh Gite is actively involved in architectural education through his association with Brick College of Architecture, Pune, mentoring young architects and reinforcing the importance of responsible design thinking.
With multiple award nominations and a growing body of impactful work, Studio Elementz continues to evolve—quietly pushing boundaries while remaining anchored in its core values.
In a rapidly changing built environment, Studio Elementz stands as a reminder that good architecture does not seek attention—it earns trust. Through simplicity, clarity, and purpose, the studio crafts spaces that resonate with users long after the building is complete.
